My fantasy comes up empty.

It used to be daydreams full

— handsome men

passionate kisses

falling in love

becoming Mrs. Until —

heartbreak, disappointment

takeover of desire lost

translated into

beach dreams

grandbabies galore

brownies with pecans

rare empty spaces, sometimes a question.

(Could I ever love a man again?)
