Morning Devotion: July 29
Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
God is Sovereign.
God and Jesus are one. Jesus is an aspect of the Father. Not in the physical father/son sense we experience on Earth, rather as God is Creator of All, Jesus is a part of God in that He is the only one in human history born of a virgin birth, through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, another aspect of God, is how the Christ Head became physical for the benefit of mankind. It was (still is) an opportunity to give man (His Creation) part of Himself (Jesus) to feel, experience what the flesh experiences, making the sacrifice pure and the crucifixion that much more powerful as a demonstration of God’s love for us — all because of His desire to bring mankind back into an intimate relationship with Him.
Prayer: Thank You, God, for the revelation of the nature of Jesus Christ. Thank You, God, for Your Holy Spirit, the One who willingly guides and dwells among us, if we provide room in our lives. I ask forgiveness for the times I rejected Jesus, and I ask that You will give me the courage and boldness to live a life more in accordance with what it means to live a life as a believer in Christ Jesus. In His Name, I pray. Amen.
