Morning Devotion: July 24

Genesis 1:3–4 “And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’ And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.”

God spoke the first day into being. There was care in it. It was a deliberate plan spoken into existence, and He said, it is good. All that God does or allow in this world is done with intent. Our very being is not some haphazard accident, whether our parents planned the birth or not. We are on this Earth, living, breathing creations of the Most High — intentionally. This thought gives me courage to explore each day with an eye to experience some goodness, some joy, some laughter, as the creation of God I was intended to be.

Prayer: Lord God, You are Elohim, the strong and all powerful, personal and intimate God of Restoration, and the Creator of all things good. As I meditate upon Who You are, let my worship and my life reflect more of You and Your presence in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
