Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
While these words were spoken by Moses thousands of years ago, the truth remains: God goes with us. The caveat is, do we make room for Him to come along?
Often, we want the promises of God, but we don’t want God. We want the benefits without the struggles. Those struggles can include speaking up for Jesus in a room full of unbelievers, praying for someone when we are having our own crisis, or even stopping to give someone a helping hand while we are in a hurry.
Wisdom tells us the best time to pray is not only when there is a crisis. The Bible reinforces the message: “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Building a relationship with God is an ongoing process. The beauty is that God will be with us no matter what we do; the difference is without relationship, we may not recognize His presence.
Prayer: God in Heaven, You are a keeper of Your Promises. May my fears dissipate as I fully rely on You for my peace. Deepen my awareness of You, as I take comfort that You will always be with me, wherever I go. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
