Each Day

Each day. Blessed

Each moment. Gifted

Each breath. A chance

How will we spend it

Like the coin deposited in a child’s palm

Shiny and strong

Eyes lit and bright

Full of wonder

This won’t last long

Bubble gum

Potato chips

A cookie from the jar.

How will that coin be spent

So small it can’t go far…

And. Just. Like. That.

The second has passed

The minute is gone

The hours are finished

The years have gone by

Have we yet lived before we died?
